Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is an upcoming supernatural horror film based on the video game of the same name. The film is a sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s. It is the second film in the Five Nights at Freddy's film series. The film is set to be released on December 5, 2025.

On October 27, 2023, Emma Tammi told Variety she would like to continue making more movies and that the second film would likely be based on the second game.[3]
On November 28, 2023, The Hollywood Handle reported that Emma Tammi would be returning to direct Five Nights at Freddy's 2 with production starting in 2024[4]
On January 8, 2024, Josh Hutcherson told Variety that progress on the film was "moving forward" and "looking good". Hutcherson also stated he was "dying" to get back on set.[5]
On April 9, 2024, Jason Blum posted an image of Jim Henson's Creature Shop with the caption, “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is working their magic again! We aren’t sure what they’re working on, but we know it will be great!”[6]
On April 10, 2024, at CinemaCon 2024, Universal President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution Jim Orr stated that Five Nights at Freddy's 2 would release in Fall 2025.[7] Blumhouse then official announced that Five Night at Freddy's 2 would release that same date.[8]
On May 16, 2024, Deadline reported that the film would be released on December 5, 2025 with Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon returning to produce.[9]
On June 7, 2024, at Summer Game Fest 2024, Jason Blum stated that production on Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was continuing “this very minute”.[10]
On August 3, 2024, Matthew Lillard stated that filming for the film would start in October that year.[11]
On August 8, 2024, for the franchise’s tenth anniversary, ScottGames released four screenplays for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 stating that one was real and the other three are fake.[12]
